ZÉLIA MOREIRA (PAN)
I'm Zélia Moreira, I have 56 years old and I am a candidate for PAN Lagos, in the “Lagos com Futuro” coalition.
From a very early age I felt the need to act in defense of animals and the environment. More than 15 years I have dedicated myself to rescuing and reporting cases of abandonment and mistreatment, seeking to be the voice of all who do not have one — whether human or non-human. This dedication transformed me into a tireless activist on the ground, who seeks to be at the side of those who need it and where it is needed, always with the conviction that each life deserves respect.
Anyone who knows me highlights a strong sense of justice in me., a resilience that never ends and a unique ability to mobilize resources and implement changes. When I am faced with difficult situations, I spare no effort to look for solutions that can improve the life of the community.
My fight for the animal cause is not limited to dogs and cats, but covers all species, including those that are often unfairly seen as “pests”. Within these, I highlight the defense of birds such as pigeons, seagulls and storks. In collaboration with ICNF and SEPNA, I participated in the removal of silk and threads that acted as invisible mousetraps, mutilating small and medium-sized birds. In the last few months, I was also involved in reporting cases of stork deaths, pigeons and swallows.
In parallel, I am an active voice in protecting the environment, participating in actions on the ground and raising awareness of the importance of biodiversity. I defend the preservation of vegetation areas that many consider just “herbs”, but which are, in truth, vital spaces for bee feeding, birds and insects.
I also defend zero tolerance to domestic violence and collaborate with institutions that support victims, promoting your protection and security. I also believe that the municipality should look more closely at the needs of the homeless, of the elderly and people who live alone, guaranteeing them dignity and effective support.
My dream is to see effective control against chained dogs implemented in Lagos, the promotion of animal sterilization and a firm fight against all forms of mistreatment.
I don't promise miracles - I offer my dedication, tireless energy and organizational skills, always with the aim of transforming ideals into real changes for people, animals and nature.
Because lakes deserve more
