LUÍS BÁRBARA
My name is Luís Bárbara, I have 66 years, I was born in Lagos and lived here all my life. I am married and father of two daughters, and it is with pride that I have always maintained a close connection to our city and its community.
My professional career began in the tourism sector, where I worked for six years as a receptionist and head of reception at the Lagos Tourism Park. Later, I started a long career in the construction sector, starting as a warehouse employee and ending up as the owner of the construction materials company Serros Areias e Britas, where I was during 42 years. This experience gave me not only a deep knowledge of the local reality, but also leadership capacity, organization and resilience.
Lifelong, I always kept active in the community. I represented the Lagos Hope Football Club as a central defense for six times. During 9 Years I was part of the Lagos Philharmonic , having been president in the last 2 years. Today, I still share my dynamism by helping my eldest daughter's project, where I collaborate as the second developer and drone pilot.
I am an active person, sympathetic and proactive, And I believe that the values of dedication, transparency and honesty are fundamental in public life.
I applied because I want to contribute to improve lakes in areas that I consider essential: housing, environment, animal protection, culture and promotion of the local economy.
I assume the commitment to fight for the quality of life in Lagos, always close to people and attentive to their needs.
Because lakes deserve more.
