Presentation by Amelia Paiva
O My name is Amelia Paiva, I have 63 years and a life story marked by diversity and dedication to the community.
Although it was born in Lisbon, I grew up in a small Alentejo village, where are my family roots and where I learned the values that guide me to this day: Solidarity, Respect and the sense of justice.
From 1988, Lagos is my home. It was here that I completed the degree, here was born my son and here I have lived with pride and dedication. Work in the City Council of Lagos as a civil servant, profession I exercise with passion and mission spirit. I truly believe that public service is a way of transforming lives - both the workers and the citizens we serve daily.
My training in human resources management gave me a clear view of the importance of justice, motivation and professional development. These principles are also the basis of my union activism and the defense I make, firmly, for the most vulnerable.
Out of work, I am in love with crafts and dedicate myself with commitment to the protection and welfare of street animals, causes that inspire me and complete.
Integrate the movement of citizens “lakes with future - independent citizens”, through which we have submitted concrete proposals in the City Council, Municipal Assembly and Parish Councils. Proposals designed to respond to the real needs of people and to build a fairer city, balanced and human.
With this route and this experience, I have the ambition to continue working for lakes in the next four years. I firmly believe that we can always do more and better for our city.
Because lakes deserve more
